Sindhoora Yalla

Designer, Psychologist

Product Designer at Omio

I'm Sindhoora - a designer with a background in psychology and sociology.

As a psychologist and sociologist, I see people - not just by their behaviour but by the social constructs that make them who they are.

As a designer, I use these insights to develop solutions for them to enhance their quality of life.

What I Do

UX Research

One of my strongest 'skills' is empathy, probably due to my background in psychology. This was my driving force towards research in my earlier years of university, and now I apply it in User Research.

UX Design

For the past 2 years, I've worked as a UX designer in a digital agency. Most of my responsibilities entail benchmarking, wire-framing, and aligning user needs with business needs. Here are my top UX projects.

Talks and Workshops

A vital part of being a designer in today is being able to share your knowledge and expertise with others - be it through workshops or narratives. Here's where my 'speaking' journey begins.

What I Care About

I spent most of my design career wondering when I would make impact that mattered. A conversation with Adeola Enigbokan sparked during Interaction20, which made me realise that I first need to understand what impact I actually cared about. Here's where it begins.

Animal Welfare

A value I hold dear to me is Equality - regardless of gender, race or even species. Any animal lover will tell you that their pets have a 'personality' - something that makes them unique.

While this sheds a light of perceived autonomy of the animal, majority of its fate lies in the hands of humans. It is our responsibility to ensure that we provide a positive environment for animals to thrive in, reach their own potential - just as we would for other humans.

In 2017, I started a project called Blue Collar aimed at improving the quality of life of stray dogs in India.

People like my work because of my strong sense of empathy and attention to detail. I'm an optimist - and a strong believer than no problem is un-solvable.
